Licensure

Colorado law began requiring licensure for massage therapists in April of 2009. At present, the State of Colorado requires a student to graduate from a school, such as ours, and register with the state.

Upon successful completion of our program, students are granted a Certificate in Massage Therapy that is not intended as a license to practice Massage Therapy. Graduates MUST adhere to the current law and/or regulations of the state, county, or city agencies in which they intend to practice.

Each state has its own laws and licensing requirements and the Academy makes no guarantee of fulfilling another states requirements. It is up to each student to gain licensure (if required) in the state of intended practice. However, many states recognize the National Certification Board (NCBTMB) and the Federation of State Massage Therapy Board licensing exam (MBLEx) which you qualify to sit for upon graduation from the Academy’s Massage Therapy program.

The Academy of Natural Therapy prepares and pays for you to take the MBLEX.
