For detailed course descriptions, choose one of the courses listed below:
Continuing education in the field of massage therapy is essential for the practicing massage therapist to stay up to date on current trends in the field and deepen knowledge in particular areas of study. Many professional massage organizations also require CEU credits to maintain professional standing in their organization. The AMTA does have pre-approved criteria in place; however, they will accept most classes that are taught by qualified instructors and relate to the field of massage therapy and hands-on healing. The ABMP and NCBTMB do not have pre-approval criteria in place, and the Academy is currently undergoing that approval process for the acceptance of our CEU’s for these organizations. Currently Structural Muscular Balancing is the only course approved for CEU’s for NCBTMB. The State of Colorado Private Occupational Schools/Colorado Department of Education approves all of the continuing education courses Academy of Natural Therapy offers. Each professional organization has the authority to calculate CEU credits according to its own formula. Check with your professional organization for all the details regarding CEU’s. Some professional organizations claim that some CEU’s can be retroactive in their acceptance. This means if you take them now and if it is approved later, the CEU’s will count. Always be sure by checking with your professional agency before making any permanent decisions for yourself. The Academy makes no claims or guarantees of acceptance of CEU’s on behalf of your professional organization. |
